TPRA announces 2008 Silver Spur Internship Program companies

The Texas Public Relations Association is pleased to announce the 2008 Silver Spur Internship Program companies. Interns will be funded by TPRA for placement in various companies and organizations across the state. These college students will each receive $1,000 from TPRA on top of any remuneration granted by the employing organization.

Public Relations Foundation of Texas Educator of the Year

The Public Relations Foundation of Texas launched its Texas Educator of the Year Award at the TPRA conference in San Antonio honoring Douglas Ann Newsom, Ph.D., Professor of Journalism at TCU, as our inaugural recipient.

A long time TPRA member, past president and charter life member of PRFT, Dr. Newsom is an accredited member of PRSA and a member of the PRSA College of Fellows. She is co-author of three textbooks, co-editor of a women's studies book and author of 12 book chapters.
