"Seth Frey is a thought leader in the promotional products industry.
It's exciting to see innovative, entrepreneurial minds partnering with
Boundless. I truly believe that Boundless' technology and
infrastructure will enable Big Frey to become an invaluable partner to
its clients. I expect to see an immediate positive impact on Big Frey's
business," said Boundless Network President Jason Black.
Seth Frey started Big Frey Promotional Products in 2003 following the
success of Granny's Goodies, an advertising specialty and corporate
gift company he began in 1994. Frey has built a solid customer base
with numerous Fortune 500 companies and professional service firms,
securing a niche in the recruitment space. Recently, in response to the
growing demand for Web 2.0 technologies, Frey incorporated social media
tactics to further engage his client base and create a strong virtual
presence.
"The ultimate goal of any sales organization is to capture 'eyeballs,'
and hence, recurring sales opportunities," said Frey. "Working with
Boundless, we are able to integrate our social media strategy with
Boundless' customer technology platform. The combination of these key
tactics will certainly strengthen our existing relationships and
attract new business from those looking for real value from their
branded merchandise partner."
Frey's use of social technology includes blogging on his website
(http://www.bigfrey.com/), posting short video clips to his active
YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/BigFreyPromo) and frequent
updates via Twitter (http://twitter.com/sethfrey).
"Our customer base is technologically savvy, and they demand a partner
with the tools to improve brand control while simultaneously maximizing
their marketing dollars. Boundless Network's technology is the only
platform in the industry that can help companies achieve this goal.
Joining Boundless was a strategic move for my business and my
customers," Frey continued.
Frey was attracted to Boundless Network's use of innovative social
media and marketing tactics, as well as the patented technology that
enables customers to manage their branded merchandise purchasing. In
addition, Frey cites the company's strong financial partners and
stability, seasoned executive team and continued commitment to
innovation and value for the customer.
In 2009, Boundless Network plans to continue recruiting top independent
promotional professionals, while acquiring top promotional products
distributors with revenues between $2 million and $10 million that are
located in key regions throughout the country. In three years Boundless
Network has grown from two to more than 150 employees; 70 are located
in Austin. Since the beginning of 2008, the company has completed 11
acquisitions and expanded nationwide from a single location to 20
regional offices located coast-to-coast.
The Austin Business Journal recently ranked Boundless Network as the

promotional products industry by the Advertising Specialty Institute
out of more than 16,000 companies in the industry.
Boundless Network was awarded a 2009 Silver Spur from the Texas Public

TPRA evolved toward becoming a different organization this year. We broadened our focus beyond public relations and began to embrace the concept that many of our members wear more than just one communications hat. While we'll always be TPRA, we also became the Communicators' Connexion, a crossroads of information on all professional communications, including advertising, marketing, and investor relations. We created a universal calendar that brought you the events from all the state's professional communications trade organizations, and we enhanced our communicators' blog to embrace a wider range of topics. We just completed one of our most successful fall seminars, the Web 2.0 Boot Camp, where attendees interacted with speakers in a fully WI-FI environment to examine the current state of social media. Participants told us it was the best ever.

That was just a start. The evolution will continue next year, as our Best of the Southwest Communicators Conference February 27 in Frisco will focus on excellent professional development opportunities, more networking, more exposure to marketing and advertising issues, and recognition for professional accreditation as well as top quality work.

That was just a start. The evolution will continue next year, as our Best of the Southwest Communicators Conference February 27 in Frisco will focus on excellent professional development opportunities, more networking, more exposure to marketing and advertising issues, and recognition for professional accreditation as well as top quality work.

James Willard Goodwin Jr. Passes

James "Jim" Willard Goodwin Jr. Sept. 7, 1942 - July 15, 2008 Jim Goodwin passed away peacefully, joining Christ our Lord, July 15, 2008. He finally succumbed to a brave 10 year-long battle with a rare form of early on-set dementia and Parkinson's syndrome. He is survived by his loving and doting wife of nearly 44 years, Patricia Elizabeth Goodwin; and his devoted daughters, Julie and Sheri; as well as his son-in-law, Shannon; and three grandchildren; and Jim's compassionate canine companion, Maggie. He is also survived by three younger brothers and their wives, Sam and Kim Goodwin of Fayetteville, AR, Stan and Pam Goodwin of Plano, TX and Dr. Mike Goodwin and Dana of Ashland, KY. He is preceded in death by his mother Dr. Gail Goodwin Bolton, father James W.Goodwin, Sr. and brother Jonathan Carlton Goodwin. Jim was born and raised in the Pineville, Louisiana area. He attended Louisiana Tech University where he received a degree in Journalism and also met the love of his life, Pat. Jim was a state award-winning discus-thrower for the La. Tech track team. After marrying, Pat and Jim moved to Beaumont, Texas where he accepted a reporter position at the Beaumont Journal. He soon thereafter accepted a position in the Public Relations Department with Southwestern Bell Telephone where he worked for 25 years and in that time the family transferred to Little Rock, AR, St. Louis, MO, San Antonio, TX, Lubbock, TX, and then finally Austin, TX where he retired as a PR Manager with Bell. Jim was a 40-year member of the YMCA where he found long lasting friendships and loved to play basketball at noon most weekdays. He was a dedicated athlete playing softball in many leagues, three on three basketball tournaments, and participating in the Senior Master Track & Field Games even into his late 50s. Jim was known for his fantastic sense of humor mostly in the form of puns and was often referred to as a Renaissance man for his love of poetry, music and knowledge of sports facts and obscure trivia. We would like to thank Dr. Robert Myerson and Dr. Thomas Hill for their excellent care, his care givers Melody Johnson, Jim White, and Wanda Butler as well as the fantastic staff at Hospice Austin. We would also like to thank the wonderful volunteers at the Westlake Hills, Presbyterian Church "The Gathering" and Bethany Methodist Church "House of Friends" who hold programs for people experiencing forms of Dementia and Parkinson's. They were all a Godsend and the family feels so blessed by their gifts. The family would also like to thank all the many relatives and friends who visited Jim and held him in prayer. They would like to acknowledge Pat's family, Carl and Barbara Bassett, Glen and Linda Bassett, Dr. Wayne Bassett, Lynda and Loyd Sharbono and many nieces and nephews for their loving support. Jim and Pat are members of Riverbend Church of Austin, TX. A memorial service will be held at the Smith Chapel at Riverbend Church (4214 Capital of Texas Hwy. N. - Loop 360) on Friday, July 18 at 1:00 p.m. time and a reception will be held in The Quads immediately following the service. He will be interned at Remembrance Gardens next to Riverbend Church. Honorary pallbearers include: Ron Bower, Dr. David Brace, John Conniff, Phil Haught, Ken Owen, Dick Rhyne, Milburn Taylor, and Jim White. A donation may be made in Jim's name to: the Town Lake Chapter of the YMCA (www.aus tinymca.org/giving), Hospice Austin (www.hospicaustin.org), Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church for "The Gathering" (www.whpc.org), Bethany Methodist Church for "the House of Friends" (Bethany-umc.org) or Capital Area Parkinson's Society (www.capitalareaparkinson.org).
